Focusing on the Plan’s longevity and meeting the future needs of members and employers, LAPP also embraces accountability through a comprehensive approach encompassing responsible investing, financial health indicators, and sustainable practices.

LAPP integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions to promote sustainable practices and ethical standards while also balancing fiduciary responsibilities to protect the Plan funds and maximize investment returns. LAPP works closely with its investment management services provider (AIMCo) to exercise shareholder rights responsibly and influence positive stewardship through collective scale.

Dedicated to transparency and reporting, LAPP provides disclosures — including the impact Responsible Investing (RI) on investment decisions and performance — to its Corporate Board, Sponsor Board, as well as to the Stakeholder Consultation Group (SCG) through twice yearly meetings. These meetings are further designed to engage with stakeholders and understand their priorities and concerns regarding ESG and RI practices.

LAPP conducts regular assessment of the Plan’s funded ratio ensure it remains sufficient to meet our current and future liabilities by implementing strategies to manage funding volatility and maintain a sustainable funded status over the long term. LAPP also secures actuarial reviews to determine appropriate contribution rates that balance affordability for members and employers while covering pension obligations and providing an adequate retirement income.
