Employers
A LAPP pension is perhaps one of the most valuable benefits an employer can provide for its employees.
Employer Online Services (EOS) allows employers to conduct pension administration transactions with LAPP's administrator, Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS), over a secure Internet connection.
Pension e-guide and Pension e-news Moving to Secure Access
In early 2012, only registered and authorized employer representatives will have access to:
- Pension e-news (the employer newsletter); and
- Pension e-guide (the employer information portal).
If you currently have access to Employer Online Services (EOS), nothing changes, except you’ll be asked to enter your EOS username and password to access these pages. The planned implementation date for securing these webpages is March 24, 2012. New registered users will require a password to access employer-specific content. After this is implemented, to become a registered user, contact your organization’s primary user (the individual registered with APS as the main pension administration contact for your organization).
Having secure online administration protects confidential and proprietary pension administration information. It limits the risk of other individuals accessing or misinterpreting information intended for employers.
A secure website also protects members and employers through limiting the ability of social engineering and phishing schemes (where outside parties may recreate and use false/malicious documents that may appear to be from APS, in an attempt to obtain personal and financial information without an individual’s knowledge or consent).
